2019 BOM Block of the Month!

When Tammy first laid her eyes on this eye candy fabric, the first thing that came to her mind was the movie Harry Loves Sally. Then when she got her hot little quilter’s fingers on the fabric and design just materialized from out of nowhere. Well it came from somewhere, but she let the fabric do the talking for her and the quilt image shown below is what she came up with.

This is the new (and did she mention free?) 2019 block of the month (BOM) quilt for her sister-site, BOMquilts.com. The fabrics are bold and bright, fun and festive and even a little bit romantic, too! It’s an 11-part BOM quilt with one block pattern instruction revealed on the 20th of each month. If you follow along each month, you will have a quilt finished by Christmas next year! Woo Hoo!

PS: She can’t guarantee that you’ll have the same…ummm…reaction that Meg Ryan did in the diner, but I can’t promise you…won’t…either!

Color Love Quilt update #1

The pattern was designed to be a 5 month block of the month, but if you're like us, we can't wait that long to make a quilt!  Abbi Mays sells this as a kit.

Color Love is Nancy Rink's new fashion palette of mid-bright textures and geometric motifs, anchored by a deep blue ground Jacobean inspired floral.
With subtle print motifs like plaids, fireworks, chubby flowers and various textures, the collections is geared to quilters who want something fresh and flexible.  The fabrics used are from the collection Color Love designed by Nancy Rink for Marcus Brothers.

First thing to do is decide which one to do: traditional or appliqued center:

We are going to do the fusible laser cut appliqued one.

Our sewer Sue, will be making the block and I'll do the applique.

Abbi Mays Exclusive: Love Me Tender table runner!

There is a treasure trove of love in this Love Me Tender table runner!

 We made our sample as a large table runner out of the fabrics from Caroline's Collection and it gave it a pretty shabby chic look!
