Happy Mothers Day!

Wow! Mother's Day is right around the corner. Many of us still have our mother with us while others only feel the warm embrace of "mom's" loving hugs that stay imprinted in our hearts forever. Either way, Mother's Day has always been such a sweet day for us as a "child of mom". So many cherished memories we each had growing up over the years. No matter if your mom was your best friend or a very difficult person to deal with at times. Whether your birth mother raised you or you had a beautiful woman who came beside you and became your mom.  Mom was the first person who imprinted upon our hearts.
We knew her heartbeat ~ her heart beat was "love".

So, today if you still have your mom, give her a deep hug and remind her how much she is loved and how important she is. If you are a mother, take the extra time to give your child/children a sweet embrace and speak words of love into their ears. If your mother has left you with just an imprint on your heart in this world, take the time to talk about all the sweetness that she poured on you!

Doug Leko is coming to Abbi Mays Fabric Shop

Doug Leko, from Antler Quilt Designs and a designer for Moda fabrics is flying in and joining us in our "Quilty Playground"!

We will have him here for a "Meet 'N Greet, "Show 'N Tell", and "Book Signing". What could be better than having our very first world-renowned designer enter our fabric shop to play?

Doug Leko’s story is unique in the quilting industry. He founded Antler Quilt Design in 2008, when he was just fourteen. He’d been quilting since the age of six, and working in his mother’s quilt shop over the years helped him develop his skills and refine his art. Doug takes a distinctive approach to his quilt designs. He enjoys incorporating secondary design elements, and he’s absolutely passionate about color. For Doug, there’s nothing like pulling together just the right mix of coordinating fabrics for project. His work has been featured in prominent publications such as McCall’s Quilting, Quiltmaker, and in American Patchwork & Quilting.

Here are some of the things Doug will be bringing along to get signed! He has a brand new book out "Regency Blues", the popular "Stashtastic" (we have a quilt made from this book with kits available on Saturday as well), and his popular Simple Folded Corners Ruler.
